THE BEST OF EUROPEAN NEW CINEMA

European Cinema is the main protagonist of Mosaico d’Europa Film Fest, six extraordinary days with screenings and special guests from 20th to 25th April 2009.
The main event of the MEFF will be the Competition for European Features with the mission to promote European new Cinema, the new films un released in Italy but already awarded in the major international festivals, among which some brilliant surprises like the last films by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Hiner Saleem.
Among the very Special Guests of the festival: the great Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski and the Russian “enfant terrible” Artur Aristakisjan.

- European Features Competition
Among which an “Italian” film from France, that is Actrices by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi (with Louis Garrel and Valeria Golino); Sous les toits de Paris by Hiner Saleem (with Michel Piccoli) and the German Wolke 9 by Andreas Dresen (an explicit love triangle involving two 70 y.o. men and one 65 y.o. woman)

- Special Opening Event: Jerzy Skolimowski
After a long period passed in painting and writing poems, the great Polish maestro (director of masterpieces as Le Départ, The Shout and Moonlighting) comes with his new film Four nights with Anna, which will be the Special Opening Event of the festival.

- Special Event Artur Aristakisjan
The Russian film-maker, impossible to be embedded in genres or categories, will present his two marvellous films Palms and A Place on Earth.

- Silent Cinema
Teodora by Leopoldo Carlucci (1922), a great film of the golden age of silent cinema.
